EliDNA Overview
Ultra-sensitive dyes for nucleic acid detection.
- Safer than EtBr
- Do not require special biohazard disposal
- Non-mutagenic and non-cytotoxic (impermeable to cell membranes)
- Better signal than EtBr
- Designed for DNA / RNA
- Flexible use - precast gel staining/poststaining (PS)
- Including the LD version for loading directly to your sample; contains glycerol and tracking dyes

Why are there discrepancies in my pre-cast gel migration ?
(13. 02. 2020)
1. Reduce the amount of DNA loading.
2. Reduce the amount of dye used.
3. Perform post-staining instead of pre-staining.
Why is my fluorescence signal weak ?
(13. 02. 2020)
1. The dye may have precipitated out of solution. Vortex to redissolve.
2. Increase the amount of dye used.
Why are my bands in pre-cast gel smeared ?
(13. 02. 2020)
1. Try to reduce the amount of loaded DNA.
2. Perform post-staining protocol instead of pre-staining one.
3. Prepare a lower percentage agarose gel for better resolution of large fragments.
4. Use TBE buffer instead of TAE buffer, which has a lower buffering capacity.
Do EliDNA PS dyes need to be used in dark ?
(13. 02. 2020)
No, you can use them in room light. Nonetheless, they should be stored in the dark.
Are EliDNA PS dyes stable enough so it is possible to make multiple gels several days before using them ?
(13. 02. 2020)
Yes. However, it is recommended to store the gels pre-made with EliDNA PS dyes at 4 °C in the dark.
Can electrophoresis buffers containing EliDNA PS dyes be used multiple times for post-gel staining ?
(13. 02. 2020)
Yes, although it is adviced to use only 1 time. Using dyes multiple might decrease the signal sensitivity.
What is the shelf life of the EliDNA PS dyes ?
(13. 02. 2020)
One year when stored at required temperatures.
