EliGene® TBEV LC (RUO)

Intended use

EliGene ® TBEV LC is intended for the detection of Tick -borne encephalitis virus (TBEV) RNA.

The kit is for research purpose only, not for use in diagnostics.

General information

Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is a viral infectious disease involving the central nervous system. The disease most often manifests as meningitis, encephalitis, or meningoencephalitis. Although TBE is most commonly recognized as a neurological disorder, mild fever can also occur. The tick -borne encephalitis virus is known to infect a range of hosts including ruminants, birds, rodents, carnivores, horses and humans. The disease can also be zoonotic.

Principle of the method

This diagnostic kit is based on Reverse Transcription quantitative PCR method in one tube. In this kit primers and labeled probes (FAM and HEX) for the detection of TBEV RNA and for the detection of internal control are used.
